Samsara Eau de Parfum by Guerlain is a rich, powdery floral with a sweet, creamy base, composed by Jean-Paul Guerlain; this Eau de Parfum edition dates from 2021. Flowers dominate, with sweetness, citrus, wood, musk and amber behind them.

Bergamot and lemon brighten the opening, peach adds a soft, ripe sweetness, and ylang-ylang and green notes give it a creamy, slightly leafy floral start. The heart is a full, old-fashioned bouquet: jasmine and rose at the centre, narcissus for a green, slightly animalic depth, and iris, orris root and violet for a cool, powdery, lipstick-like softness. The base of sandalwood, vanilla, tonka bean, amber and musk is warm and smooth, with more iris keeping the powder going to the end.

Most wearers report moderate longevity and moderate projection, with a minority finding it intimate. It is voted most for autumn and winter and splits nearly evenly between day and night, suiting cooler months and anyone who enjoys classic, powdery French florals.

Samsara Eau de Parfum — unisex fragrance by Guerlain (released 1989). Top notes: Ylang-Ylang, Peach, Bergamot, Green Notes, Lemon. Heart notes: Iris, Jasmine, Narcissus, Orris Root, Violet, Rose. Base notes: Sandalwood, Vanilla, Iris, Amber, Tonka Bean, Musk. — Parfica open fragrance database
