Mandarin and orange give the opening a sweet citrus brightness, quickly joined by coriander and anise, the anise adding a liquorice-like, slightly cool spice. Whisky arrives early and lends a smoky, oaky warmth that runs through the heart. The base is thick and sweet: vanilla and tonka bean for a creamy, almond-tinged sweetness, benzoin and styrax for a balsamic, resinous warmth with a faint smokiness, cashmeran for a soft, musky wood, and patchouli for earthy depth.
It is a cold-weather, after-dark fragrance by nature and should be worn lightly. Anyone who enjoys whisky, vanilla and resin together, and prefers warmth to freshness, will find it fits the brief.
