Velvet from Commodity, created by Jérôme Epinette in 2018, is a warm, ambery gourmand floral. Amber leads, with sweetness and flowers strongly present and woody, musky and leathery touches.

It opens with coconut nectar for a creamy sweetness, almond for a soft marzipan note and cloves for a warm spice. The heart is soft and powdery: vanilla flower brings a gentle sweetness, heliotrope an almond-like powder and rose petals a velvety floral note. The base is deep and resinous, with black amber and labdanum giving a balsamic warmth, birch a smoky, leathery edge, patchouli an earthy depth, and white woods, ambergris and musk a smooth finish.

Most wearers report moderate longevity, with some finding it long lasting, and the trail is largely moderate. It is voted for autumn and winter and favoured for night. Worn by anyone, it suits cold evenings, dates and cosy occasions, for someone who likes a soft, warm amber with a creamy, almond sweetness.
