Carthusia Uomo, released in 2004 by the Italian house Carthusia, is a floral-woody men's fragrance: flowers lead, woods follow for most people, and green and citrus sides are noticed by about half.

Lemon and bergamot open with a crisp, sunny citrus, while green leaves and freesia add a fresh, slightly sappy lightness. In the heart, geranium brings a rosy, minty sharpness that is common in classic men's scents, joined by jasmine and lily of the valley for a clean floral lift, while patchouli and cedar begin to add structure. The base is soft and slightly old-fashioned in the best sense: oakmoss gives an earthy, mossy depth, and sandalwood, amber and musk a smooth, warm finish.

It is a refined, quiet scent for daytime, the office and warm-weather weekends. It suits someone who likes fresh Mediterranean citrus with a gentle floral and mossy character.
