Rose Croquante from the French house Caron, composed by Jean Jacques and released in 2022, is a crisp, fresh rose. Everyone who describes it calls it floral, under half add citrus, and a minority mention sweetness, wood, musk or freshness.

The notes are not split into stages but the idea is clear. Mandarin and bergamot open bright, and cucumber adds a cool, watery, green crunch that gives the scent its name. Turkish rose, rose and rose oil form the heart in different registers, from dewy petal to deeper, slightly honeyed oil, with jasmine and jasmine sambac adding fullness and peach a soft, velvety fruit. Cedar provides a dry, clean wood beneath, and musk a soft, skin-like finish.

Community reports on longevity and sillage have not yet been gathered. The fresh, slightly watery rose is suited to daytime, spring and summer, and to someone who finds many roses too heavy and wants one that feels just cut.
