Byredo's Inflorescence, released in 2013, is a pure, uncomplicated floral for women, and the word floral is the only one wearers use to describe it. There is no sweetness, wood or musk to speak of; it is flowers from start to finish.

It opens with pink freesia and rose, which together are fresh, slightly peppery and dewy, like a bunch of cut stems rather than a heavy bouquet. The heart brings lily of the valley, green and watery, and magnolia, creamy with a faint lemony brightness, so the middle stays light and airy. The base is a single note of jasmine, which adds a touch of warmth and depth but keeps the scent transparent rather than heady.

Most people find the longevity moderate, with a quarter calling it weak, and sillage is split between moderate and intimate, so it stays close to the skin. It is voted almost exclusively for daytime and for spring, with summer second, which makes it a clean, springtime floral for someone who wants flowers without any sweetness or warmth.
