The notes point to a dark, layered wood. Oud gives a deep, slightly animalic woodiness and patchouli an earthy, damp-soil quality; labdanum adds a sticky, amber-like resin. Against this, saffron brings a leathery, faintly medicinal spice, sage a cool herbal note, and jasmine a touch of heady white flower. Pineapple is the surprise, adding a ripe, juicy sweetness that likely explains the gourmand votes.
