Vetiver Ambrato by Bois 1920, released in 2005, is a green, citrusy amber for anyone to wear. Everyone describes it as green, ambery and citrusy, and about half also find it spicy, floral and aromatic.
It opens with lemon, bergamot and petitgrain, a bright citrus with a bitter, leafy edge, while galbanum and artemisia add a sharp, resinous, slightly medicinal greenness. The heart is geranium, lavender and cloves: a rosy, minty freshness, a clean aromatic line and a warm, spicy bite. The base is vetiver, amber, French labdanum, vanilla and benzoin, the vetiver smoky and earthy, the resins and vanilla building a warm, sweet amber that softens everything above.
There are no community reports yet on how long it lasts or how far it carries. Green herbs over a warm amber suit spring and autumn, by day or evening, for someone who likes a classic structure with a balance of freshness and warmth.
