Bergamot opens it with a brief brightness, soon overtaken by black pepper, saffron and bay leaf, which give a dry, aromatic heat. Clary sage adds herbal freshness, while orris root and rose bring a powdery floral layer. Cocoa then introduces a dark, roasted sweetness. The base is earthy and deep, with patchouli and oakmoss giving a damp, forest-floor quality, and suede a soft, smooth finish.
Worn by anyone, it is a complex scent for people who enjoy many-layered compositions. The spice, cocoa and moss point towards autumn and winter, evenings and occasions where a distinctive, textured fragrance is welcome.
