Lighter and more modern than the original, Quorum Silver was released by Antonio Puig in 2005 as a spicy woody scent for men. Everyone who describes it calls it spicy, most find it woody, and fewer than half note the citrus; aromatic and amber facets are minor.
The opening is fresh and fizzy, with bergamot and mandarin orange brightened by ginger and cardamom, and lavender adding a clean barbershop touch. The heart is all warm kitchen spice: cinnamon, nutmeg and pink pepper, giving a gentle heat rather than sweetness. The base settles into Virginia cedar and guaiac wood, both dry and slightly smoky, with patchouli for earthiness and a little amber for warmth.
About half of wearers report moderate longevity and more than a third find it long lasting. Sillage is moderate for the great majority, so it stays within arm's length. It is voted for spring and autumn and worn more by day, which makes it an easy spiced office scent for the in-between seasons.
