Pink pepper and cinnamon give a warm, sparkling spice at the start, lifted by bergamot. The heart is the most distinctive part: myrrh and frankincense bring a dry, smoky, church-like resin, juniper a crisp green note, and rectified pine tar a dark, smoky, campfire-like depth. The base is warm and rich, with vanilla giving a soft sweetness, cedarwood a dry structure and labdanum a dark, ambery resin.
