Makalu, released by Alchimista in 2016, is primarily floral, with a strong woody structure, a warm amber layer and smaller gourmand, leathery and spicy touches.
Named after one of the world's highest mountains, it moves from warm flowers to a dark, smoky base. Cloves add a warm, slightly medicinal spice at the start, and chamomile a soft, herbal and apple-like note. The floral heart is generous: rose, ylang-ylang and mimosa give a rich, creamy and slightly powdery bouquet. As the scent settles, agarwood and birch bring smoky, resinous woods, leather adds a supple warmth, and Peru balsam creates a sweet, balsamic glow.
The profile points to autumn and winter, evenings and special occasions where a rich, layered fragrance fits. It is meant to be worn by anyone who likes opulent florals over smoky, leathery woods.
