Palissandre d'Or, created by Alberto Morillas for Aedes de Venustas in 2015, is above all a spicy woody scent: warm kitchen spices laid over smooth, dry woods, with a soft musky and amber edge.
It opens on ambrette, a seed with a velvety, slightly pear-like musk that makes the start feel soft rather than sharp. The heart is where the spice lives: pink pepper adds a bright tingle, coriander a fresh, almost citrus lift, while nutmeg and cinnamon bring warmth and a gentle sweetness. As it settles, cedar and sandalwood give a creamy, polished wood, patchouli adds earthy depth, and copahu balm and ambroxan leave a resinous, mineral-amber glow on the skin.
This is a shared fragrance that anyone can wear. Its spice-and-wood character feels natural in autumn and winter and suits office days as well as dinners, for someone who wants warmth without heavy sweetness.
