Althaïr, released by Parfums de Marly in 2023 and composed by Hamid Merati-Kashani and Ilias Ermenidis, is presented as masculine and is mainly gourmand, with a spicy side and smaller musky, floral, resinous and citrus touches.

The top notes are warm and bright: bergamot gives a fresh citrus lift, orange blossom a honeyed floral note, and cinnamon and cardamom a sweet, aromatic spice. In the heart, Bourbon vanilla brings a rich, creamy sweetness, and elemi a peppery, lemony resin. The base is warm and nutty: praline and candied almond give a caramelised, sugary nuttiness, tonka bean an almond-like softness, guaiac wood a smoky woodiness, and Ambroxan and musk a radiant, clean finish.

Most wearers report long-lasting wear, and the majority describe its sillage as strong. It is voted mainly for winter and autumn, and more often as a night scent. It suits evenings, dates and cold-weather occasions where a sweet, warm vanilla scent with presence is wanted, for someone who likes spiced vanilla and praline in a polished style.
