Guaria Morada is a spare, sunny woody citrus from the French house Parfums Berdoues, released in 2020, composed by Mylène Alran and worn by anyone. Woody and citrus are the two words everyone uses for it, in equal measure, which fits a formula of just three notes.

Brazilian orange opens it, a sweet, juicy, slightly tangy citrus with less bitterness than bergamot, and it gives the start a warm, sunlit brightness. Amyris is the heart, a soft, smooth wood often compared to sandalwood, slightly sweet and faintly balsamic, and it takes over as the orange fades, keeping some of its warmth and roundness. Patchouli is the base, dark, earthy and slightly damp, and it gives the drydown more depth and grip than the two gentler notes could manage on their own, so the scent ends drier and more serious than it begins.

It is an easy daytime scent for warm weather, worn by anyone who likes orange and soft woods kept simple and clean.
