Amaryllis Bianco from the Italian house Panama 1924 is a 2017 composition by Maurizio Cerizza, aimed at women. It is floral, sweet and ambery at once, with plenty of citrus brightness and a little spice and resin.
The opening is fresh: bergamot and orange give a juicy citrus sparkle, rhubarb a tart green crunch and coriander a gentle spice. Artemisia and lavender add an aromatic, herbal note. The heart is a white floral bouquet in which amaryllis, jasmine and magnolia bring creamy, sweet, slightly lemony petals. The base is soft and balsamic: vanilla and tonka bean give warm sweetness, benzoin and Peru and Tolu balsams a rich, resinous, almost cinnamon-like glow, while incense adds a wisp of smoke and musk a clean finish.
It reads as bright and feminine at first, deepening into a comforting, ambery warmth. It suits spring evenings, dinners and occasions where a polished floral with a soft, sweet trail feels right.
