Thorns Become Roses by Nishane, composed by Julien Rasquinet and released in 2026, is a spiced, fruity rose worn by anyone. Everyone describes it as floral, and most also find it spicy, sweet and woody; a third notice green and amber-like sides.

Lychee and raspberry open it, juicy and a little tart, with violet leaf adding a green, slightly metallic freshness that keeps the fruit from feeling sugary. Turkish rose and rose sit at the centre, rich and velvety, and mimosa adds a soft, powdery, honeyed warmth beside them. Cardamom and saffron supply the spice, the cardamom cool and aromatic, the saffron dry and leathery. The base is sandalwood, amberwood and patchouli: creamy, dry and earthy in turn, giving the rose a warm, woody floor.

It reads as a rose for cooler weather and evenings, deep and spiced rather than fresh. It suits someone who likes rose with fruit and saffron, in the richer modern style, and wants something with presence.
