Pure Gold from the British house Milton Lloyd is a men's fragrance that is spicy, woody and citrusy all at once: everyone who describes it mentions all three, and a third also find it aromatic, ambery and leathery.

Grapefruit, mandarin orange and blood mandarin give a sharp, juicy opening, cooled by mint and peppermint for a bracing, almost toothpaste-fresh edge. Cinnamon then warms things up, with rose adding a faint sweetness in the middle. The base turns to white woods and patchouli for a dry, earthy grounding, leather for a smooth, slightly smoky depth, and amber for warmth.

The fresh-spicy balance makes it a flexible everyday scent, suited to daytime and the office, and to spring and autumn when neither heat nor cold dominates. It should suit men who like a citrus opening but want a warmer, spicier drydown than a plain cologne.
