L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme Sport is Issey Miyake's brighter, more energetic masculine from 2012, the work of perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud. Citrus and woods lead in equal measure, and about half of wearers also pick up something spicy, a touch of leather and a soft amber warmth underneath.

It opens with bergamot and grapefruit, a sharp, clean burst that feels like cold water. Nutmeg then adds a dry spice while leather brings a smooth, slightly rugged note that keeps the fragrance from being purely fresh. The base is Virginia cedar and vetiver, pencil-dry and earthy, with ambergris lending a salty, skin-like warmth as it fades.

Longevity is reported as moderate by about half of wearers, and a quarter find it weak, so it is a scent to reapply rather than one that lasts all day. Sillage sits close to moderate for most. Summer and spring take the most votes, almost always for daytime, which makes it a natural fit for sport, work and warm-weather days.
