A warm, spiced take on the L'Eau d'Issey line, L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme Noir Ambre is a masculine fragrance from Issey Miyake, released in 2016 and composed by Christophe Raynaud. Spicy and woody describe it best, with a sweet gourmand side that most wearers also notice and a quieter amber and leather undertone.

The opening is a cluster of kitchen spices: saffron, cinnamon, nutmeg and coriander, dry and warming rather than sweet. The heart turns darker and smoother, with leather and cedar giving structure while vetiver adds a dry, slightly smoky edge. The base settles into amber, vanilla and tonka bean, which is where the sweetness comes from and where the scent stays for the rest of the day.

Most people report it lasting a long time, and around half find the projection strong. It is voted mainly for winter and autumn, and much more for evenings than daytime, so it suits cold weather and nights out rather than the office.
