1804 by Histoires de Parfums, a French house, was released in 2001 and composed by Sylvie Jourdet. It is a fruity floral with a strong sweet, gourmand side and a spiced, woody undercurrent, and it is marketed for women.
Tiare flower, pineapple and peach open it, so the first stage is tropical, juicy and lush. The heart is a classic floral bouquet of rose, jasmine and lily of the valley, but nutmeg and cloves run through it and give it an unusual warm, spiced character that sets it apart from a straightforward fruity floral. The base is vanilla, benzoin and sandalwood with musk and patchouli, which makes the drydown creamy, resinous and quietly earthy.
About half of wearers find it long lasting. Sillage is mostly moderate, with a minority calling it strong. It is voted for summer and spring and primarily for daytime, so despite its warmth people reach for it on bright days. It suits someone who wants a fruity floral with more depth and spice than usual.
