24 Faubourg is a grand floral from Hermès, composed by Maurice Roucel and released in 1995 for women. Everyone who describes it calls it floral; about a third also find it sweet, woody and citrusy, and a minority ambery.
It opens with bergamot and orange, brightened by peach and given a green, spring-like edge by hyacinth, with ylang-ylang adding early richness. The heart is a sunlit bouquet: orange blossom, gardenia and jasmine for warmth and creaminess, iris for a powdery smoothness, and black elder for a slightly wild, honeyed greenness. The base of sandalwood, vanilla, amber and patchouli is warm and softly sweet, giving the flowers a long, golden drydown.
Most wearers find it long lasting, and about half describe its projection as strong, with a third calling it moderate. It is voted mainly for autumn and winter, and slightly more for day than night. That makes it a dressed-up floral for cooler weather, for someone who wants white flowers with real presence.
24 Faubourg — unisex fragrance by Hermès (released 1995). Top notes: Hiacynth, Orange, Ylang-Ylang, Peach, Bergamot. Heart notes: Orange Blossom, Gardenia, Jasmine, Black Elder, Iris. Base notes: Amber, Sandalwood, Patchouli, Vanilla. — Parfica open fragrance database
