Guerlain's Vetiver, in the version from 2000 composed by Jean-Paul Guerlain, is a men's classic that wearers describe as spicy, woody, floral and citrus in equal measure, with two thirds also calling it aromatic and a third green. It is a vetiver with a lot going on around it.

The opening is a bright citrus of lemon, bergamot, mandarin orange and neroli, roughened up with tobacco, nutmeg and coriander. The heart is vetiver itself, earthy and dry, with pepper, sage, carnation, sandalwood and orris root giving it spice and a soft powdery edge. The base keeps the vetiver and adds oakmoss, leather, myrrh, civet, tonka bean and amber, a warm, slightly animalic finish.

Longevity is split between moderate and long lasting, and the trail is moderate for most. It is voted for summer and spring and mainly for daytime, which fits a refined, grown-up scent for warm days and work.
