Tabarome by the French house Creed, composed by Olivier Creed and released in 2000, is a men's woody citrus with a tobacco heart. Wearers describe it as woody and citrus above all, with spicy, aromatic, amber and leather sides noticed by about half.

The opening is bright and simple, with bergamot and tangerine giving a sweet, zesty citrus start. The heart is ginger alone, adding a warm, slightly sharp spice that bridges the fruit and the darker base. That base is where the character lies: tobacco brings a dry, sweet, hay-like depth, leather a smooth, slightly animalic edge, ambergris a salty, skin-like warmth, and sandalwood and patchouli a creamy, earthy wood underneath.

About half of wearers report moderate longevity and a quarter find it long lasting. Sillage is moderate for most and intimate for a quarter, so it is a refined rather than a loud scent. It is voted for autumn and spring and slightly more for day than night, which suits smart daytime wear in the transitional seasons and anyone who likes a gentlemanly tobacco scent.

Tabarome — for men fragrance by Creed (released 2000). Top notes: Tangerine, Bergamot. Heart notes: Ginger. Base notes: Tobacco, Sandalwood, Ambergris, Leather, Patchouli. — Parfica open fragrance database
