Gold by Commodity, composed by Donna Ramanauskas, is a woody fragrance with a strong sweet side and spicy, ambery accents. It is a warm, golden, quietly glowing scent worn by anyone.
It opens with camphor, giving a cool, almost medicinal freshness, alongside bergamot and juniper berries, which add a crisp, gin-like brightness. The heart is warmer: Haitian vetiver brings a smoky, earthy woodiness, amber and benzoin a resinous, vanilla-like sweetness, and saffron and nutmeg a soft spice. The base is smooth and comforting, with vanilla, tonka bean, sandalwood and musk, and Iso E Super adding a transparent, velvety woody hum.
Most wearers report moderate longevity and a moderate to intimate trail. It is voted for autumn and winter and for day and night almost equally, which makes it a versatile cold-weather scent for work, dinners and personal everyday wear.
