La Tulipe Hair Perfume, the 2016 hair version of the Byredo scent, is mainly woody, with smaller gourmand and floral touches.
The composition is fresh and spring-like. Rhubarb opens it with a tart, green and slightly sour freshness, which may explain the faint gourmand impression. Freesia adds a light, peppery sweetness, and cyclamen a watery, transparent floral note. Tulip, a flower with little natural scent, is evoked as a fresh, green and slightly dewy floral note. The base is clean and woody: white woods and woody notes give a pale, smooth woodiness, and vetiver an earthy, slightly smoky dryness.
Hair perfumes are made to be applied to the hair, where they tend to give a gentle trail as you move. The profile suggests spring, daytime and the office, as well as calm occasions. It is meant to be worn by anyone who likes fresh, green florals over clean woods, and who prefers a light, airy and natural scent to anything sweet or heavy.
