Bvlgari Man Wood Essence, released by Bvlgari in 2018 and composed by Alberto Morillas, is presented as masculine and is mainly woody, with smaller spicy, gourmand, resinous and citrus touches.

The top notes are bright and slightly sweet: lemon zest gives a sharp, zesty freshness, citruses with sugar a candied, sugary citrus note, and coriander leaf a green, aromatic and slightly spicy herbal edge. The heart is where the woods take over: cedar brings a dry, clean pencil-shaving woodiness, vetiver an earthy, rooty and slightly smoky dryness, and cypress a green, resinous evergreen note. Benzoin settles the base with a soft, vanilla-like resin that warms the woods.

Most wearers report moderate longevity, with some finding it long-lasting, and most describe its sillage as moderate. It is voted equally for spring and autumn, and more often as a daytime scent. It suits the office, daytime and casual evenings, for someone who likes clean, natural woods with a zesty citrus start, and wants an understated, versatile everyday scent rather than something sweet.
