Marasma by Bois 1920 (2024) is spicy and woody in equal measure, with citrus noticed by most people and smaller groups finding sweetness, flowers and amber.
Finger lime and bergamot give a sharp, sparkling, slightly bitter citrus opening, and pineapple a juicy, tropical sweetness. Black pepper, pepper and cardamom bring a dry, cool, lively spice. Artemisia adds a bitter, herbal green, and salt a mineral, sea-spray edge. Lily gives a clean, slightly spicy floral touch. The base is dry and woody, with cedar for crispness, guaiac wood for a soft smoke, patchouli for earthy depth and amber for warmth.
Marasma is shared and can be worn by anyone. It suits spring and summer, daytime, the office and holidays by the sea, and should appeal to people who like peppery citrus with a salty, woody base rather than a sweet or floral scent.
