Berlin Fever by Birkholz, released in 2018, is a spicy fragrance with a sweet, gourmand streak and smaller hints of woods, musk, herbs and amber.

It opens on a warm cluster of tobacco, ginger, cardamom and cinnamon: the ginger gives a fizzy bite, the cardamom an aromatic coolness, cinnamon its familiar bakery warmth, and tobacco a dry, leafy sweetness. In the heart, amber and nutmeg deepen the mood with a resinous glow and a nutty spice. The base settles into patchouli, vanilla and tonka bean, where earthy patchouli meets creamy vanilla and the almond-like sweetness of tonka, all softened by a clean musk.

The German brand's scent is worn by anyone. Its spiced warmth suits autumn and winter, evenings and festive occasions, and those who like cinnamon and tobacco with a vanilla finish will find it a comforting, well-rounded choice.
