Peony & Peppercorn from Banana Republic, released in 2019 and worn by anyone, is a floral scent with a woody, lightly spiced frame. Everyone who describes it calls it floral, most add woody, and a third find it spicy, sweet, musky or citrus. It was composed by Vincent Kuczinski at Mane.

The notes come as a single list. Bergamot gives a brief citrus lift, and pink pepper adds a bright, rosy spice that gives the scent its second name. Peony and pink peony form the heart, soft, slightly watery and a little rosy, supported by rose for a fuller floral note and plum for a dark, juicy sweetness. The base of cashmere wood and musk is smooth, warm and clean, a soft woody cushion rather than anything dry or sharp.

Wear reports are still few. Its character suits spring and autumn daytime, and someone who wants a modern, easy floral with a hint of spice rather than a sweet or powdery one.
