An'na Annayake from the Japanese house Annayake, released in 2011, is a spicy, fruity floral for women. Floral is what everyone notices, with spice, sweetness, wood, amber and citrus each mentioned by about a third.

Mandarin orange and blackcurrant open it bright and tart, with coriander adding a dry, slightly peppery, green spice. The heart is rose, jasmine and tuberose, a full, warm bouquet with a creamy, heady edge. The base is patchouli and amber: the patchouli earthy and dark, the amber warm and resinous, so the drydown has depth and lasts.

It is marketed as feminine and suits autumn and winter and the evening, for someone who likes a rich floral with coriander and patchouli giving it a spicy, grown-up edge.
