Bergamot and freesia give a fresh, lightly peppery opening, while incense adds an early wisp of smoke and geranium a rosy-green edge. The heart is where the saffron sits: warm, golden and leathery, it wraps around Rose de Mai and jasmine, giving the flowers depth, with cedar adding a dry woody line. The base turns rich and smooth, with agarwood for a dry, smoky oud, sandalwood for creaminess, vetiver for an earthy finish, and vanilla and benzoin for a soft, balmy sweetness.

Safran Rare is shared and can be worn by anyone. It suits autumn and winter, evenings and dressier occasions, and should appeal to people who like saffron-rose-oud compositions in a refined, balanced style.
