Grapefruit and mandarin orange open it with a bright zest. Thyme, basil and lavender then bring a green, herbal, slightly savoury character, while cardamom and nutmeg add a warm, dry spice. The base is broad: cypress for resinous green, cedar and Virginia cedar for pencil-sharp wood, sandalwood for cream, vetiver for earth, and vanilla and tonka bean for a soft sweetness that rounds everything off.
Reports on longevity and sillage have not yet been gathered. By character it works across seasons, fresh enough for day and warm enough for evening, and suits someone who likes traditional aromatic masculine scents with a gentle sweet finish. It is sold in a mid-sized bottle.
