Bonbon is a woody caramel scent from Viktor&Rolf, released in 2014 and composed by Cécile Matton and Serge Majoullier. Most people describe it first as woody, with gourmand, floral and citrus sides mentioned about equally often and a quieter amber warmth underneath.
It opens on peach with orange and mandarin, a juicy and sunny start rather than a sharp one. The heart is where the sweetness arrives: caramel folded into orange blossom and jasmine, so the sugar reads as creamy and floral rather than sticky. The base turns drier and warmer, with guaiac wood, sandalwood and cedar giving a smooth, faintly smoky woodiness and amber rounding it off.
About half of wearers report moderate longevity, and most find the projection moderate, so it stays fairly close without fading early. It is voted mainly for autumn and winter and split almost evenly between day and night, which suits cool-weather wear from the office through to an evening out.
