The opening is sharp and unusual, with Sichuan pepper giving a tingling, slightly citrusy spice and turmeric adding a dry, earthy warmth. The heart is three roses at once, Bulgarian, Turkish and May rose, which together give a full, slightly jammy, slightly green rose rather than a powdery one. The base of tonka bean and patchouli adds a soft, almondy sweetness and an earthy depth that keeps the drydown from feeling too pretty.
Wearers are fairly split on longevity, with moderate slightly ahead of long lasting. Sillage is moderate for most and strong for a quarter. It is voted equally for spring and autumn and almost evenly between day and night, which makes it a versatile rose for transitional weather.
