Costa Azzurra, released by Tom Ford in 2021 and worn by anyone, is a salty, woody take on the Mediterranean coast. Woody is how everyone describes it; about half also call it citrusy, and a quarter spicy, musky, fresh or aromatic.

The opening is unusual for a summer scent: driftwood and seaweed give a dry, briny, sun-bleached note, with cardamom adding a warm spice. The heart is the bright part, lemon over lavender and cypress, a citrus-and-herb mix that smells of scrubland by the sea. The base is mastic and incense with vetiver, a resinous, dry, faintly smoky finish.

Most wearers find the longevity moderate, with a minority calling it weak, and the sillage is moderate to intimate. Summer and spring take most of the seasonal votes and it is largely worn by day. It suits warm days and anyone who prefers their seaside scent salty and woody rather than sweet or aquatic, and who does not mind it staying fairly close to the skin.
