It opens with nutmeg, black pepper and saffron, giving a warm, dry and leathery spice, with bergamot adding a short citrus lift. The heart is woody and balsamic: gurjun balsam brings a resinous, slightly sweet woodiness, sandalwood a creamy smoothness and patchouli an earthy depth. The base is darker, with cedar giving dry wood, leather a smooth, smoky texture, labdanum a balsamic warmth and agarwood a deep, resinous oud note.
