Green apple is the clearest idea in the opening, crisp and slightly tart, with aldehydes adding a sparkling, almost fizzy brightness. Verbena and lemon verbena bring a sharp, lemony, herbal freshness, and fig leaf a green, milky, slightly bitter note. Bay leaf and laurel add a savoury, aromatic depth that keeps the fruit from becoming candy. Lily of the valley gives the heart a dewy floral softness. Underneath, palisander rosewood brings a smooth, slightly floral woodiness, and musk and amber a soft, warm base that holds the greenness in place.
