Pegasus, composed by Hamid Merati-Kashani for Parfums de Marly in 2011, is a sweet almond scent for men. Wearers describe it as spicy, sweet, woody and musky in equal measure, and about half also find it aromatic and citrusy.
Heliotrope sits in the opening alongside bergamot, pink pepper and cumin, so the powdery, marzipan note that defines the scent is there from the start, set against a warm, slightly savoury spice. The heart adds bitter almond, which sharpens the marzipan, with lavender for a clean, barbershop freshness and jasmine for softness. The base is vanilla, amber and sandalwood for a creamy warmth, with musk and cedar keeping it smooth and dry.
Most people find it long lasting, and sillage is split between moderate and strong. It is voted for autumn and winter and almost evenly for day and night. It suits men who like powdery, almond-led sweetness with a vintage, talcum-like character.
