Ani is a spicy, woody fragrance from the Turkish house Nishane, composed by Cécile Zarokian and released in 2019 for anyone to wear. Everyone who describes it names spice and wood, most also find it sweet, and a third notice flowers, resin and citrus.
It opens with ginger, pink pepper and bergamot, a bright, tingling start sharpened by green notes. The heart pairs Turkish rose with cardamom and blackcurrant, so the flower arrives with a cool, aromatic spice and a tart, slightly green fruitiness. The base is broad and warm: vanilla and benzoin for a resinous sweetness, sandalwood and cedar for creamy and dry wood, patchouli for earth, and ambergris with musk for a salty, long-lasting glow.
