It opens with incense, dry and smoky, giving the first impression a dark, slightly churchlike edge. The heart is amber, warm, resinous and softly sweet, which rounds off the smoke and gives the fragrance its glow. The base is vetiver, earthy and rooty with a faint smokiness of its own, which keeps the amber from becoming syrupy and leaves a dry, refined finish.
