Despite its name, Molinard's Ambre Eau de Parfum (2015) is described by most people first as citrus, with spicy, floral, resinous, aromatic and amber facets each noticed by a smaller group. It is an amber built on a bright, fresh frame.
Lemon, orange and bergamot open it with a sunny, zesty lift. Lavender and geranium follow, adding a clean, herbal floral note that keeps things airy. Cloves bring a warm, slightly medicinal spice. The base is where the amber character settles: incense adds a soft smoke, benzoin and vanilla a balmy sweetness, patchouli earthy depth and musk a smooth, skin-close finish.
This eau de parfum is shared and can be worn by anyone. The citrus brightness makes it more versatile than a typical amber, suitable for daytime as well as cooler evenings, and it suits people who want a little warmth and spice without heaviness or a cloying trail.
