Yellow mandarin and bergamot open it with a warm, sunny citrus, sharpened by pink pepper. The heart is lush and sweet: jasmine sambac and Moroccan rose give a full, heady floral centre, with fruity and sweet notes adding a honeyed, almost jammy richness. The base is where it turns deep and ancient: myrrh and incense bring a dry, smoky, balsamic character, benzoin and ambergris add warmth and a salty, resinous glow, leather a supple darkness and patchouli an earthy anchor.
It is a scent for cooler months and evenings, with real presence. Anyone who enjoys rose and jasmine set against incense and resins should find it rewarding.
