It opens with cinnamon and nutmeg over a brief flash of bergamot, so the first impression is warm, baked spice rather than freshness. The heart is where the sweetness gathers: dates give a dark, sticky, raisin-like richness, praline a caramel-nut sweetness, and tuberose and Mahonial, a modern floral molecule, a creamy, slightly heady floral lift. The base is thick with resins and sweet warmth, as myrrh and benzoin bring a balsamic, faintly smoky depth, vanilla and tonka bean a soft sweetness, and amberwood and akigalawood a dry, peppery, woody edge.
