Sanguine is a bright, uncomplicated citrus built around blood orange, released by Keiko Mecheri in 2000 and intended for women.
Blood orange leads, sweeter and slightly more bitter than ordinary orange, with a faint berry-like edge, joined by orange, Amalfi lemon and lemon for a full, sunny citrus opening. Petitgrain adds a green, slightly bitter orange-leaf note that gives the scent a little structure. Musk closes it with a soft, clean, skin-like warmth that carries the citrus impression after the brightness has faded.
It is a warm-weather, daytime scent, suited to spring and summer mornings and everyday wear. Anyone who likes simple, juicy citrus scents with a gentle musky finish, and does not need a long or complicated drydown, should find it an easy pleasure.
