Rose carries the opening, soft and petal-like rather than sharp or green. Vanilla then wraps the flower in a warm, creamy sweetness, which is where the gourmand side comes from. Patchouli anchors the base with its earthy, slightly chocolatey depth, giving the rose and vanilla something darker to rest on so the whole does not tip into confectionery.
