Danger Eau

Danger Eau, a 2024 release from House of Fanatics worn by anyone, is a marine fragrance with a warm amber finish. Fresh is how everyone describes it; about two-thirds add floral, ambery or citrusy, and a third sweet or woody.

Sicilian mandarin opens it with a sweet, juicy citrus, and marine notes, sea water and ozonic notes give the start a cool, salty, open-air quality. Juniper berries add a gin-like, piney bitterness. The heart is lightly floral: freesia for a peppery, dewy brightness and iris for a cool, powdery softness. The base is warmer than the opening suggests, with ambergris and amber for a salty, resinous warmth, sandalwood for creamy wood, and tonka bean for a soft, almond-like sweetness.

Longevity and sillage have not yet been reported. The sea-air opening suits hot weather and daytime, while the amber and tonka give it a warmer drydown than most aquatics, making it workable on a summer evening.
