Guess Night from Guess, composed by Francis Kurkdjian and Antoine Lie in 2013, is a sweet, resinous woody fragrance for men. Wood is what everyone notices; most also find it gourmand and resinous, and a third pick up spice, a floral note and citrus.

Grapefruit and pepper open it bright and a little sharp, with geranium adding a green, rosy edge. Elemi brings a lemony, resinous sparkle to the middle, and cedar a clean, dry wood. The base is where the warmth lives: labdanum, dark and balsamic, patchouli for earth, vetiver for a smoky dryness, and vanilla with black vanilla husk for a rich, slightly smoky sweetness.

It is marketed as masculine and, as the name suggests, suits the evening and cooler weather, for someone who likes sweet resins and vanilla held up by dry wood rather than left to run loose.
