There is no real opening act here. Agarwood gives a dark, resinous woodiness that would normally be dry, but vanilla and tonka bean wrap it in a thick, warm sweetness, somewhere between custard and toasted almond. Amber adds glow and roundness. The effect is a smooth, cosy oud rather than a smoky or medicinal one, and the balance stays much the same from the first spray to the last trace.
A scent like this suits cold evenings, winter coats and intimate settings where a sweet, enveloping warmth is welcome. It should appeal to people who like vanilla fragrances and want a little more depth and darkness underneath.
