Mulberry Fig from the British house Floris, composed by Nicola Pozzani and Penny Ellis in 2022, is a green woody fig worn by anyone. Woody is the word everyone uses; about half also call it green, and a quarter find it spicy, sweet, floral or ambery.
Fig is the centre: green, milky and slightly sweet, the smell of the leaf and the fruit together. Violet leaf adds a cool, watery greenness and cardamom a soft, aromatic spice. Coconut gives a creamy roundness that echoes the fig's milkiness. Beneath, cypress and cedar bring a dry, resinous wood, sandalwood and amyris a smooth creaminess, and iris a faint powder. Vetiver and amber close the scent with earth and warmth.
Wearers have not yet reported on longevity or projection. By character it suits spring and summer, daytime and relaxed evenings, and anyone who likes fig scents with more wood than sugar. It is sold in two bottle sizes.
